Jack Dobbs, a Registered Psychologist (1989) and Mediator,
is a member of the Canadian Psychological association,
the Canadian Register of Health Service Providers
in Psychology, the US based Association for Conflict
Resolution (ACR), and the Alberta Family Mediation
Society (AFMS), as well as other associations related to
the professional practice of psychology and counseling.
Jack maintains a varied consulting psychologist practice.
Jack has over twenty years experience in various roles
at Mount Royal College as a Professor and Chair of
Counseling Services. As well, he has throughout the
years, had a private psychological consulting practice
which includes counseling, consultation and mediation.
Jack currently is researching the area of mediation in
business, an area of professional interest.
Jack was elected by his colleagues to sit as a Council
member of the College of Alberta Psychologists which is
the regulatory body for the psychology profession in
Alberta. As well, he has sat on the Board of Directors of
the Canadian Counseling Association.
Jack has lectured and trained for a number of psychological
organizations internationally. A dual citizen of
the United States and Canada, he has lectured often to
organizations and institutions on a wide range of areas.
His expertise in the area of dealing with high conflict
personalities in the business field is well known. As well,
he has conducted risk assessments in the field of higher
education, and in the past, with the Solicitor General,
he has been accepted in both levels of Court in Alberta.
His experience in the past as a Probation Officer offers
him a unique perspective of psychology and the law.
Jack’s years of experience as a psychologist has culminated
in him joining the firm as an associate and he is
currently accepting clients by appointment.
