Tanya is a Registered Psychologist, mediator, and parent coordinator. She has experience and training in providing psychotherapy and conducting assessments in a psychiatric clinical setting. As well, Tanya has received ongoing extensive training in the psycho-legal arena under the direct supervision of Dr. Larry Fong.
As a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists, Tanya is an ongoing member of the following organizations: The Canadian Psychological Association, the American Psychological Association, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the Association for Conflict Resolution, and is a board member with the Alberta Family Mediation Society.
Tanya has worked in clinical settings with clients from diverse backgrounds presenting with various concerns. Further, she was competitive in figure skating, of which she was provincially ranked, and played competitive ice hockey internationally. Additionally, she has played other various recreational sports including, including floor hockey, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and softball. Her personal experience in sports provide her with the unique ability to relate to the challenges that athletes may encounter as well as understand the difficulty of navigating these challenges. She is skilled in supporting athletes in their transitions and out of sports, reintegration following a traumatic brain injury, performance-related anxiety, and body image concerns. Tanya enjoys working with older children, adolescents, and adults providing therapy and parent consultation. She has extensive training working with high conflict divorce and family dynamics which has led her to work with families navigating issues pertaining to separation and divorce, as well as parenting.
In addition to therapy, Tanya provides mediation, parent coordination, and as well interventions, both therapeutic and evaluative, under Practice Note 7.
