STEPHANIE SCHOENBERG

Stephanie is a Canadian Certified Counsellor and an EMDRIA approved EMDR therapist holding a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and an undergraduate degree in Cultural Anthropology. Prior to working in private practice, Stephanie spent over 15 years working in the social service sector supporting individuals, families and youth struggling with addiction, homelessness, chronic stress, and generational trauma. She has also spent extensive time studying, volunteering, and working in various parts of the globe, including Belize, Jamaica, Germany, China, and South Korea giving her a nuanced perspective on the role culture plays in shaping human experience.

With a person-centred and compassionate approach, Stephanie takes a stance of collaboration, empathy, and non-judgement, meeting clients exactly where they are. She is passionate about helping people recognize their inner strength, resilience, and uniqueness in order to create uniquely meaningful lives.

In her therapeutic practice, Stephanie has experience working with a variety of client challenges including complex trauma, anxiety, depression, attachment wounds, and grief. Stephanie offers counselling sessions for adults aged 18+ who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic stress, trauma, self-esteem struggles, grief, and relationship struggles. She draws from a variety of modalities including EMDR, IFS, CBT, ACT, attachment, and narrative therapies along with mindfulness and somatic interventions.

Stephanie is currently a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
